Night of Lights - Nov 28 • 6 PM

Ring in the holiday season at Crane Plaza & City Hall with the annual Night of Lights.

Scheduled Activities:

• 6:00 PM - Santa arrives & park lighting

• 6:15 PM - 8:00 PM - Musical entertainment by the Herriman Harmonyx & local groups

• 6:30 PM - Herriman Orchestra concert (City Hall)

• 7:30 PM - Herriman Jazz Band concert (City Hall)

Ongoing Activities:

• Food trucks with warm dining tent (5:00 - 8:00 PM)

• Ice skating (pre-registration required)

• Visits with Santa

• The Grinch at Herriman Whoville

• Yeti craft

2022 Herriman Gingerbread Contest

Share your creativity through our holiday gingerbread building contest! Entries will be on display November 28 - December 1, 2022 including during the annual Night of Lights event on Monday, November 28th.

Entry Categories: 

• Youth - Individual (age 5-12)

• Teen – Individuals (ages 13–18)

• General - Individuals (age 18+)

• Group/Business – a group of any size and any combination of ages

Entries will be judged on overall appearance, creativity, and difficulty. Two winners will be awarded in each category: People’s Choice and Most Creative. Most Creative will be voted on Monday, November 28 prior to Night of Lights. People’s Choice will be voted by the public later that evening as part of the Night of Lights. Winners will be announced at the Night of Lights stage at approximately 7:45 p.m.  Winners do not need to be present for the announcement.
Gingerbread Contest


• Everything above the base of your entry must be composed of 100% edible materials

• Any structure - real or imaginary - is eligible for entry

• Entry must be original – pre-made Gingerbread kits are allowed in the Youth category only

• Entry must be constructed of gingerbread (no graham crackers, cookies, etc.)

• All components must be edible. For example, all foil or plastic wrapped candies must be unwrapped; lollipops cannot have paper or plastic stems. No perishable food items can be used in the making of an entry

• Entries must be freestanding

• Entries must be submitted on a sturdy board base that is decorated.


• Unload your entry at Herriman City Hall (5355 W Herriman Main Street) in the Events and Recreation Department (first floor)

• All entries must be received by noon on Monday, November 28. Late entries will not be accepted

Post display pickup:

• For competitors that wish to keep their entries after December 1, 2022; entries must be picked up on Friday, December 2 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Entries remaining after the designated pickup window will be discarded unless other arrangements are made with Herriman City staff by emailing
