A valued Herriman tradition, the Memorial Day breakfast and ceremony is an opportunity for the community to say "thank you" to military veterans. The breakfast is traditionally located at Main Street Park and includes delicious food available for purchase, followed by an honor procession to the ceremony. The ceremony, held at the Herriman City Cemetery, includes a playing of Taps and a reading of the name of each veteran laid to rest in the cemetery.
We'll come together to memorialize, honor, and celebrate those who've lost their lives fighting for our freedoms with a community breakfast and ceremony Monday morning, May 31st. The breakfast will be held at Main Street Park (5900 W 13000 S) from 7:00 - 11:00 AM. To pre-purchase a breakfast plate for $10, click here. Veterans receive a free meal.
A Veterans procession led by HPD will take place preceding the ceremony. Veterans are invited to line up west of the pavilion at Main Street Park at 8:30 AM.
The ceremony, led by the American Legion Post 140, will start at 9:00 AM from the Herriman City Cemetery (12465 S Pioneer St). The ceremony will include patriotic music, poetry, the reading of Herriman veteran's names, a 21-gun salute, and the playing of "Taps". A recorded video is available here.
