A valued Herriman tradition, the Memorial Day breakfast and ceremony is an opportunity for the community to say "thank you" to military veterans. The breakfast is traditionally located at Main Street Park and includes delicious food available for purchase, followed by an honor procession to the ceremony. The ceremony, held at the Herriman City Cemetery, includes a playing of Taps and a reading of the name of each veteran laid to rest in the cemetery.
We'll come together to memorialize, honor, and celebrate those who've lost their lives fighting for our freedoms with a community breakfast and ceremony Monday morning, May 31st. The breakfast will be held at Main Street Park (5900 W 13000 S) from 7:00 - 11:00 AM. Those who desire to eat will need to pre-pay for their meal(s) and pre-register for a pickup time using the button below due to COVID-19 guidelines.
The ceremony, led by the American Legion Post 140, will start at 9:00 AM from the Herriman City Cemetery (12465 S Pioneer St). The ceremony will include patriotic music, poetry, the reading of Herriman veteran's names, a 21-gun salute, and the playing of "Taps". Those who desire to not attend, due to COVID-19, may view a recorded version of the ceremony afterward.
