In January 2021, Real Salt Lake announced the signing of 16-year old Jeff Dewsnup, a goalkeeper from Herriman. Dewsnup grew up dreaming of playing for Real Salt Lake. He is the first Herriman native to attend RSL's academy and then sign an MLS contract.

According to abc4.com, Dewsnup is the youngest player signed by RSL in the club's history.

"He's a very talented goalkeeper and we had a specific plan for him," head coach Freddy Juarez said in a release. "We will continue to work with him to make sure he continues on that path to the first team."

Dewsnup has been called up to youth national teams, been on the Real Monarchs matchday roster, and trained with RSL's first team during the 2020 season. He will most likely play with the Real Monarchs this coming season.

RSL General Manager Elliot Fall stated in a release, "Jeff is a fantastic young goalkeeper with an extremely bright future in the fame. We are thrilled that that future will be in Claret and Cobalt. As a Herriman native, he is a further testament to our investment in development and soccer in our community."

"It feels amazing to be able to sign with the team I've supported my whole life," said Dewsnup. "I've always looked up the the other homegrown players in the club and have wanted to be just like them. It just feels like a dream come true."
