Of the 12.6 percent of high school lacrosse players who go on to play men’s college lacrosse, three percent play at the D1 level. Competition for Division 1 roster spots is high and requires an athlete to be well-rounded on the field and committed in the classroom.

Dallin Tanner, a senior, is the first NCAA D1 lacrosse recruit from either Herriman or Mountain Ridge High School according to his mother, Betsy Tanner. He is committed to play for the University of Utah starting fall 2021. Not only is this a wonderful and exciting opportunity for Dallin but it is a tribute to all of the local coaches who have helped guide his dream since the 3rd grade. Lacrosse is considered the fastest growing sport in the west and growth has been seen here in Herriman over the last 10 years. “As a Herriman Youth Lacrosse board member, I have seen our lacrosse community grow for several years,” stated Betsy Tanner. “It would be neat to see the youth programs recognized as well as our high school programs.”
