Herriman Main Street is being widened, improved, and reconstructed from approximately 7300 West to 6225 W. This includes improvements such as pavement reconstruction, curb/gutter, sidewalk, drainage improvement, waterline replacement, and other related construction elements. Herriman City has contracted with Landmark Excavating to complete the project. The anticipated timeline is approximately February 2023 through early spring 2024. The original finish date was December 2023, but unforeseen delays have moved the finish date until after the winter.
6400 West intersection closure: Tuesday, October 24 - Sunday, October 29: Utility work will take place from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m. each day. Traffic detours via 13400 South are encouraged. Local traffic will be allowed to access homes.
(updated from original plan to reflect unforeseen project delays)
Due to delays that prevented work on some parts of the project for several months, a new sidewalk from 7300 West to Dansie Oaks Boulevard, part of the permanent safe walk route for Oak Leaf Elementary's students who live south of Main Street, was not be completed by the start of the school year. A temporary safe walk route is in place for this school year with crossing guards. However, due to the length of the temporary safe walk route, the Jordan School District is providing buses to shuttle students across Main Street to the school until the permanent solution is ready. The sidewalk is expected to be complete by December.
Due to the nature of the project, interruptions to individual property owners might be for an extended time. It may even appear at times that no work is getting done even though there is. Please be patient.
