#HerrimanYeti Hunt 2017
In December 2017, Herriman City held a yeti themed scavenger hunt for their residents. Over a two-week span, clues were posted on social media leading to the Yeti’s location within the city. The first participant to find Yeti, take a picture with him and post it onto social media would win that day’s prize pack. Those who weren’t first to find the yeti were able to take a picture of his footprint he had left behind and post it on social media for an entry into a grand prize drawing. After the two weeks, and thousands of entries, the grand prize winner was drawn, along with a variety of other prize pack winners.
Yeti Going Forward
Yeti has now become a larger part of the community. As a part of the overall branding and community outreach for Herriman City, he helps promote City events, participates in providing shop local information and attends new business grand openings. He even took a trip with a Herriman resident, and local reporter, to the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
In March 2018, the Events, Recreation and Communication Departments received an award from the Utah Recreation and Parks Association for “Innovation of the Year” for the 2017 Herriman Yeti Hunt.
