Frequently Asked Questions

Four-way Stop at 5600 West and Rocky Point Drive

The City is aware of the traffic bottle neck created by the four-way stop at 5600 West and Rocky Point Drive. The stop sign is required on 5600 West due to a deficiency in the design of 5600 West. The road was constructed so that it does not meet the minimum stop sight distance. To compensate for this deficiency, the City placed four-way stop signs at the intersection. The City is aware of the congestion due to the four-way stop. The City is currently developing plans that could relieve this situation. The cost and other factors may delay implementations. In the fall of 2012, the Utah Department of Transportation will open up the Mountain View Corridor. Once the frontage roads are open, the traffic volume on 5600 West will likely decrease, which should provide some relief to the current traffic congestion.
